Event: The Royal Visit
Location: Cupids

Their Royal Highnesses, The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall arrive in Cupids to visit the archaeology site of the first official English settlement in Canada. Cupids 400 Inc. will host a reception for the residents of Cupids in the Cupids Community Centre following the Royal Visit.

Tuesday, November 3rd
Event: Master of the Society of Merchant Venturers Visit
Location: Cupids

Mr. Trevor Smallwood - Master of the Society of Merchant Venturers and his wife Mary will visit Cupids to assist in the unveiling of a granite cornerstone plaque for the new Cupids Legacy Centre. This organization sponsored John Guy’s expedition to Cupids in 1610. (The Society also funded John Cabot’s voyage to Bonavista in 1497) and is still actively engaged in charitable projects in the City of Bristol today. The Society of Merchant Venturers has donated the cornerstone plaque for the new Legacy Centre.

Tuesday, November 14th
Event: Olympic Torch Run
Location: Cupids

Join the Community in support of the Olympic Torch bearer. The bearer will carry the torch through Cupids at 8:40 AM. A regional breakfast to celebrate this event will be held at the Bay Roberts Lions Club.
